Approaching four decades servicing the drilling needs of the range of industries, Mitchell Drilling is today considered one of the most multi-skilled and experienced drilling contractors in the sector.

From our early days drilling for water and minerals, to our ability to operate efficiently and successfully for our clients in Australia's remotest locations during the resource boom years of the 1970's and 1980's, our successes saw us become the "first choice" driller for some of the world’s largest explorers at that time.

This period saw us working the vast Australian oil, gas, uranium and coal reserves on behalf of such clients that are known today as BHP Billiton, X-Strata and Santos.

The company's policy of self-reliance was a necessity due to the remote nature of areas to which we had to deploy personnel and equipment – indeed our name became a by-word in the industry - if you had a difficult job that needed a guarantee of completion, Mitchell Drilling were the people for the job.

This "can-do" philosophy saw the company embark on technical innovation whenever we needed a piece of equipment or a technique for which there was no precedent – we created it. This approach has made us attractive to clients worldwide who, in the 21st Century, seek a driller that is nimble, self-reliant and driven by the success of the project.
