Project Overview

Mitchell Drilling International have recently been contracted to Constellation Energy to carry out an integrated services project for the complete installation of a number of CBM wells using horizontal completion techniques in the United States.

The clients stated pre-requisites that included:

• Extremely fast mobilisation.
• Reduction in crew numbers.
• Hands-free drilling operations.
• World's best practise safety standards.

This specialised project calls for a completely new design drilling system to rapidly install extended reach horizontal wells in the Oklahoma Basin.

Mitchell Drilling International's engineers continue to innovate for our clients – in Constellation Energy's case, they have developed of the world's most advanced Generation 3 drilling rigs – known as Argonaut.

This revolutionary rig and system is currently in test phase in America.

The reduced costs to the client are expected to be significant, resulting in major economic returns on the project.
