Mitchell Drilling International (MDI) as part of the Mitchell Drilling Corporation has shared in the groups drive to always be at the cutting edge of drilling technology, best illustrated by some of the industry "first's" they have pioneered -

• The introduction of modular, semi automated, top drive hydraulic oil rigs to the Australian and Asian markets.
• Created Modified rigs to meet stringent mine safety standards.
• Fitted an electronic instrument and data recording package to a multi-purpose top drive mineral rig.

Further, our research and development division has developed much of the specialised equipment required for the rapidly developing surface to in-seam drilling sector, including poly well liners and automated injection equipment, innovative PCD bit designs, drill strings, and under-balanced drilling equipment.

MDI's philosophy has always been fast rig-ups, fast rig moves and safe, efficient drilling operations. Our equipment is consistently being evaluated to ensure that this goal is being met.

When something unique is required, our state-of-the-art, fully equipped workshops have the facilities to adapt, modify or "build from scratch" a wide variety of drilling equipment, including mud systems, drill rigs, safety equipment, mud pumps, and rod loading systems.

Having the best equipment however is meaningless unless you can keep it operational throughout the project - we ensure the reliability of our service delivery by utilising a computerised preventative maintenance system for our fleet - all equipment is meticulously inspected and serviced to the highest industry standards.

Our rigs are complimented by an extensive inventory of auxiliary and support equipment at key locations throughout the world. This means the best suited, specialised equipment is available for a clients project with minimal mobilisation costs.
